On June 8, 1949, the FBI released a report naming Hollywood figures as communists, including Fredric March, John Garfield, Paul Muni, Edward G. Robinson, Paul Robeson, Danny Kaye, and Dalton Trumbo. The FBI report relied mostly on accusations by “confidential informants.”
