i think it's a little weird how people in my generation treated suicide like a kind of cognitohazard or mind virus. like being aware of suicide would make you more likely to kill yourself
as a teen the concept of depression and suicide were presented to me as though being exposed to the concept of suicide or being socially adjacent to someone who committed suicide would somehow, effectively, cause demons to enter our hands who would, unbidden, perform self-murder
