I added some clouds, changed the sky color and then added filters to the canvas and changed the sky color to make it more attractive and warm as I envisioned.
And how tonally fitting too, for it to be released the month of the series' 24th anniversary. Happy birthday Shantae!🎉🎉🎉
This is the first drawing in my spiny style where the linework is entirely molded from sketches on one layer, with me cleaning it all up like I'm mowing a lawn. And I know i improved on backgrounds and it's still BOUND to be icky, but I'm certainly NOT specialized in it.
Im drip feeding again. In the process of emulating the background art style for ½ Genie. I rarely do backgrounds so im kinda scared for how it'll turn out
As a side note, it's stressing that I take so long on art and procrastinate, but I've gotta stop sitting in the dirt and move
If you start seeing pixels, you're stressing unnecessarily on a spec of a grand picture. (despite how tiny things sometimes CAN make art shine) As if your psyche is poisoned by perfectionism. Minor errors should show personality in your art. And that's what makes it beautiful
I banged my fist against a wall and I had a contusion around my ulna bone for about a week now. Now I look like Riku in KH2. I've been analyzing other artists and techniques since then. Though my ass wouldn't be finishing projects in a faster pace anyway, I should be back to normal by maybe 3 days.
After 2 weeks of resting from this month long ordeal, I hopped back in, peeped at the rocks and yet, My frustration fled. It doesn't look all that bad anymore. And it's good that no clinically dysfunctional person is gonna zoom into every pixel to find something to be mad about.
If it wasn't for the steady decline of motivation and my overwhelmed spirit leaving me completely staggered, I would've been done with this a long time ago. But by God, this earns 2nd place in the race themed commission... race. Next to Rainbow Road. Although I still struggled.
