utena characters i could fix
i just wish we had the same sense of whimsy and wonder about modern art technologies that people in the past had, or that people have for older technologies
old aesthetics are cool, DJing with vinyls is special, the exposure latitude of reversal film is really cool, but i feel like people can get so obsessed with nostalgia that we forget just how cool modern technologies for art are. PCM audio is fucking insane. digital photography is a miracle.
its funny to read interviews with music producers from around the time that CDs were being invented and popularized and seeing them all go "digital audio is fucking AWESOME it sounds so rich and complete" and comparing that to those in modern times who insist vinyl is gods gift to music engineering
