Federated Farmers says rural levy payers deserve proof they are getting value for money from Fire and Emergency New Zealand.

Minister 'shocked' by lax oversight of Fire and Emergency

After Auckland’s ladder truck had to respond to Hamilton yesterday, we went looking for the actual replacement truck. This is what we found.
A stripped chassis with no ladder components and no locker body. This is the vehicle that is supposed to be the critical "loaner" backing up both Auckland and Hamilton. When the frontline fails, there is no safety net—just a school project sitting in pieces.
FENZ has wasted more than $60 million on an abandoned new payroll system, paying millions in licence fees, and is hundreds of thousands into the establishment of another new payroll system.
An Auckland City fire crew has missed calls to a building fire, vegetation fire & medical due to their fire truck breaking down.
HOURS before today’s firefighter strike, the country’s busiest fire truck is DOWN with a blown turbo. Worse? Grey Lynn’s truck just broke down too. No backup. No safety net for the city. The network is completely broken. FENZ leadership has lost control.
The NZPFU has called for a public inquiry into the management of FENZ funds as there has been no accountability and a lack of transparency in the millions wasted on failed projects over the past 8 years.

THE DISCONNECT: FENZ CE Kerry Gregory reflects on outgoing Board Chair Rebecca Keoghan's tenure since 2019. He talks about her "contribution" but the frontline reality tells a different story. What has she achieved other than driving our fire service into the ground? www.youtube.com/watch?v=odXj...
