The Shieldaig Peninsula yesterday afternoon. Upper Loch Torridon and the Torridon Hills beyond. All looking very green.

The A896 heading east from Shieldaig Village yesterday. The temperate rain forest on the north side of Ben Shieldaig (seen here) only gets direct sunlight for about two months of the year.
A few more from Cuba 1996:
This mornings Otter story. At about 05:30 - saw him dive to catch fish, emerge with fish in mouth, eat the fish, then shake the water from his fur, and then noticed me furiously snapping with a camera! (I don't know whether it's a he or a she by the way).

As the land warms up at this time of year, we get an onshore breeze, irrespective of the wind direction. This drops the ambient temps considerably, but (at this location at least) deters all midges! Yesterday's time-lapse demonstrates the breeze in action. (This wan't the prevailing wind direction).
Summer Daze. 08:45 this morning, Loch Shieldaig.
30 years ago this month I went to Cuba to record some of my Salsa music. Probably the friendliest and most humble folk I have ever met. I hope they are coping in these difficult times.
Here's a sample of some of the music I recorded ... and some of my photos from Havana.
