At the final plenary of the 1st fossil-fuel conf, the hosts have presented "three workstreams"
These are:
🌎The development of national roadmaps away from fossil fuels
🌎Addressing "macroeconomic dependencies and financial architecture"
🌎Addressing "trade and investment balance for decarbonisation"
Other outcomes:
🌎A new science panel for global energy transition (announced last week)
🌎A 2nd conference in 2027 co-host by Tuvalu and Ireland
🌎All countries will be invited via "email" to report on their fossil-fuel subsidies
NEW: The world’s most comprehensive disaster database – relied on by thousands of climate scientists and policymakers – is at risk of closing as a result of cuts to US foreign aid by the Trump administration.
