I had this exact same reaction to seeing steam coming out of the manhole covers my first time in NYC. (And then I tripped and fell down in front of Joan Rivers and she was like “oh god some girl fell down” on her phone and kept walking)
When I met Christian Laettner (shut up he is handsome) I tripped and almost fell and mumbled “You’re tall. I like” and he made no move to catch me.
