Today, in 1967, Israel Attacked the USS Liberty
During the Six-Day War, Israeli aircraft and torpedo boats attacked the USS Liberty, a U.S. Navy intelligence ship, in international waters off the Sinai Peninsula. The assault resulted in 34 U.S. crew members killed and 171 wounded.
