Grass Vetchling, Lathyrus nissolina. Annual. Up to 90cm. Grass-like leaves up to 15cm long. 1-2 dark pink flowers. No tendrils. Pods 3-6cm
Hop Trefoil, Trifolium campestre. Up to 30cm. Hairy stems. Leaflets finely toothed. Terminal leaflet’s stalk is >1.5mm and longer than lateral leaflet stalks. Corolla up to 7mm. At least 20 yellow flowers in globular head. Flowers turn pale brown and resemble a hop.
Wild Thyme, Thymus drucei. Up to 10cm. Forms mats. Flower stems squarish and short. Leaves up to 8mm long. Dense heads of pinkish-purple flowers. Corolla approx 7mm, lower lip 3-lobed and upper lip has slight notch

Woodruff, Galium odoratum. Up to 45cm but more typically 15-30cm. Patch forming and creeping. Unbranched, 4-angled stems. 6-9 leaves per whorl with 25-60 forward pointing prickles per side. White flowers with 4 petals. Leaves have hay or vanilla scent when crushed.
Joined a meadow tour with the fledgling Brycheiniog Meadows Group in Llangattock this afternoon. Not a bad spot to spend a couple of hours! Thanks to all involved
Knotted Hedge-parsley, Torilis nodosa. Annual. Up to 35cm. Stem solid, bristly. Forward-pointing bristles on finely-cut leaves. Umbel with stout rays obscured by flowers/fruit. Umbel peduncle <1cm. No bracts. Strap-shaped bracelet. Fruits 2-3mm with hooked spines on one side
Canary-grass, Phalaris canariensis. Annual. Up to 120cm. Leaves 4-12mm wide. Ligule blunt, up to 8mm long. Closely packed spikelets. Glumes winged. First noted in the wild 1632. Grown for bird seed in 19th century.
