They are so into the Roman Emperor schtick. The pseudo-Classical ballroom. The triumphal arch. And now, gladiators. Next time an American trash-talks Canada for being a constitutional monarchy, I will point out that at least ours is constitutional.
For your #FacadeFriday viewing pleasure: post-1877 (fire) commercial streetscape, Saint John, new Brunswick.
I guess I should have waited a day to post this. Anyway, here it is again for #PharosFriday.

I don’t really care about the matches, but *this* will be worth watching.
When we ask AI to write for us, we diminish our capacity to think for ourselves and connect with one another. We're set to leave ourselves stupid, disconnected, and hopelessly dominated by companies and governments. No thanks. www.davidmoscrop.com/p/what-ai-ca...
That’s the thing with hard-core conspiracy theorists. The very absence of supporting evidence is interpreted as evidence of just how diabolically good the conspiracy is. Because the belief that there’s a conspiracy is a premise, not a conclusion.
It’s been about 40 years since I last went fishing, but I apparently haven’t completely lost my touch.

I hate this whole discourse which is a product of the students as customers model. Going to university is not a service with an intended outcome, it is a choice to take time to experience life and develop yourself. It isn't an investment that you can judge on how much money you make >

The #WorldCup has started so I thought it might be fun to post a famous site/relic from each country playing in the World Cup. Today is ALGERIA 🇩🇿 . This is the mausoleum of King Juba II and his wife, Cleopatra, daughter of THE Cleopatra and Mark Anthony. It’s about 60m across and 32m high. 🕰️3BC

RAJU: But what evidence is there to prove the California election is rigged? MIKE JOHNSON: Look, some of these efforts are so diabolical and so far upstream it's impossible to prove. But I think everybody knows instinctively that something is wrong here.

It’s not a new Harry Potter book. It’s the GOP's latest strategy for explaining away its utter lack of evidence of widespread voter fraud.

The GOP and the Unfalsifiable Claim
'(Ironically, the history degree has proven hugely valuable in a business that is all about first-hand reporting, detecting narrative bias and the second source.)' Weird use of 'ironically'. Surely this value is also part of why so many lawyers have studied history at university.
