The small Ford/Mercury personal coupés already had rivals over at Chrysler, in the shape of the sporty liftbacks spun off the US-built Plymouth Horizon and Dodge Omni. Plymouth's version was initially called the TC3 and is shown with the standard Horizon in this 1980 brochure.
