im like... i couldnt be less excited for the oot remake lol. i know they only showed us a cartoon and not actual gameplay but it doesnt bode well for me. im sure the gameplay will be fine but i dont think the visuals will hit and im tired of bad nintendo voiceacting. switch 2 has no new games
the comparison to star wars gets thrown around a lot but empire is a hundredth of the length of rebirth. this is the sort of narrative call and response you just can't spend This much time on without the player inevitably throwing out almost everything they learned from remake. it should be smoother
i think what rebirth exists to say makes more sense as a shorter, tighter second act than as a 100+ hour open world rpg with a big bombastic ending. like its apparent to me that rebirth is meant to be critical of remake's hope, which doesnt work as well in a story as padded as this
without knowing how revelation actually goes, i think it'll have similar levels of intrigue that remake did and it'll be apparent how narratively rebirth fits into the big picture, and how i think the overall story got held back by the format of having 3 gigantic games

okay sleeping on ff7 news i am cautiously optimistic. my opinions on the remake in general have gone up and down over time and i can feel post-rebirth i dont have the same fervor i did pre-rebirth. at this point im kind of still in it for my One, Specific Thing but its possible revelation hits
