Imagine if humanity stopped trying to pursue technological growth and just focused on making things stable and affordable. I'd be ok with phones never getting stronger than they are now, just getting more durable and cheaper to make. I don't need more powerful game consoles. Movies peaked already.
They absolutely didn't have to add a racing minigame with multiple courses to the Switch 2 version of Xenoblade Chronicles 1 but I'm so glad they did 😆
Quote from a work meeting today:
"This is sort of like a chicken or the egg situation, except there are no eggs anywhere yet because we still need to bioengineer a working chicken"
Momentous occasion ... my mom has seemingly started a new game after ~6 years

On one hand, I usually prefer new experiences over old ones. I don't want the game industry to become the equivalent of Disney's live-action remake machine.
But ... some of these games are difficult for new audiences to access or play nowadays comfortably despite being so iconic. They deserve that.
Gonna try this, see if it works
So, busy adults, no wrong answers ...
Do you feel like your game time cuts into your tv / movie time? Or the other way around ... do shows / movies cut into your limited game time?
I've definitely fallen way behind on most shows and movies in the name of games. It's my preferred late night hobby.
So many remakes this year and next:
Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined
Star Fox
Rayman Legends Retold
Ocarina of Time
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Resident Evil: Veronica
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation
Some of these are at the scope of practically being new games, and the others are very dramatic facelifts.
