My love language is being totally lost in a dungeon with half my party dead and a chance of taking a random encounter on my next step.

Speaking of symbol encounters, Dungeon Antiqua 2 adds a cool dimension to them: line of sight. Your facing direction reveals enemies but you can still be ambushed by those out of view if you are not careful. You can even lock your facing direction while moving if you want to keep a bead on them.

Rolled credits on Monochrome Echoes -white-! Beautiful ending. Can't post all the shots as I want folks to experience it themselves. Will eventually do a write up on this and Metro Quester (maybe once I'm done with this long piece about Random Encounters).
Think we are in the endgame now. Been a wild 50 hr ride to get here. Genuinely proud of how much the team's narrative chops have developed since Metro Quester Osaka that these final hours are hitting as well as they do :)
i have hijacked the vextro brand and i'm using it to spread evil rpg propaganda. please enjoy the first issue (hopefully of multiple) of our evil one-page rpg videogame bulletin, featuring 4 evil microreviews and an evil 500-word feature

lrt: glad there is discourse on random and symbol encounters but they don't have to be mutually exclusive! You can combine them, use only one type for a single game segment to mix things up or add encounters to a previously safe area for dramatic effect. There's a whole tool belt at your disposal :D
early Next Fest standout is Veritas Tales: Witch of the Dark Castle. absolutely gorgeous RPG in a "Virtual Tabletop System" akin to solo roleplaying novels from a former Vanillaware dev. adored every moment of this demo, instantly one of my most anticipated surprises of the year.
reading a Final Fantasy Resonance developer interview and pumping my fist like "YES YES YES" at this whole part
trying a new experiment where i make a weird rpg zine, so if you wanna plug someone's zero-budget indie or an obscure retro rpg and you think you can sum up what's cool about it in ~100 words, hit me up and i will print it and make sure as many people lay eyes on it as humanly possible
