Serpent+Unicorn First, there is conflict and antipathy. Second, there is opposition; the Serpent is older and wiser, the Unicorn is disruptive and intuitive. It takes many cataclysmic ages before the two see reason to work together to halt the Abyss from unraveling the universe. Their methods are ineffably so different that they must invent a trust to realize a partnership. After many failures, they agree they are just too different, yet, they each give a part of themselves to the other.
