A handful of people asked me about being a queer immigrant in China ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ (๐จ๐ณ&๐ญ๐ฐ). A quick ๐งต of my experiences.
For context, I'm a pan & openly queer. Going to LGBTQ events, dating etc. in mainland and Hong Kong (since 2019)

Seeing barely any coverage from most of my British palaeontological peers about, now, numerous anti-migrant attacks, solidifies the uneasy feeling I had being in that community. Only accepted when integrated into British male culture, annoyance when not, comforted by indifference to mass injustice.
Finally, footage from that new whale graveyard.
The fact that fossils and fresh carcasses mix together in this spot is bonkers. But of course it makes sense, because the scavengers that live down there also need a steady supply over millions of years. They can't just suddenly adapt to the deep.
