3/5 ๐Ÿ“Š Focus on SES Gaps: We found that residential AC is socially stratified. Aligning with Maximally Maintained Inequality, socioeconomic gaps in access seem to close only when a nationโ€™s market approaches total saturation.
2/5 โ“ Using PISA data, we wanted to explore 3 questions: 1. How is home AC prevalence evolving over time and across countries? 2. How stratified is home AC access by SES? 3. Could lacking home AC impact student achievement?
๐Ÿข The Thermostat of Opportunity! The image below (taken at the recent @isa-rc28.bsky.social conference in Seville) shows a building covered in AC units, but it also illustrates potential inequality in access to cooling. Young men aren't the whole story. Our new preprint on antifeminist attitudes across Europe by gender and age ๐Ÿ‘‡
4/4 ๐Ÿ“‰ Finding 3: The backlash narrative may not be universal. The pattern where young men are the most antifeminist demographic seems to hold in only a minority of European countries. In most of Europe, antifeminism generally tends to grow with age for both genders.
1/4 ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Has feminism gone too far? In a new preprint with @stinasiegert.bsky.social, we analyze how agreement with this statement might vary across genders and age groups in Europe. Read the full preprint here: doi.org/10.31235/osf...

2/4 ๐Ÿ” Amidst debates about a potential "young male backlash" (modern antifeminism), we contrasted this with traditional gender stereotypes ("A woman's most important role is home and family"). Using Eurobarometer data, we found some striking patterns.
