I tell people at cons that to stick with drawing or any kind of art, you need two things: 1) have so much fun you canโ€™t stop 2) train yourself to have a high frustration tolerance If you have 1 and not 2, you wonโ€™t improve. If you have 2 and not 1, itโ€™s a miserable chore. Then I show them this:

People say 'don't make your comic's art too detailed, nobody stops to look at the art anyway'. I dunno man, have you ever tried making art worth stopping for? I can think of dozens of comics for which I've stopped on every page, because the artist knew I would.
