These past few weeks the fight for our uni has taken a new turn. We've lost ~700 staff already. Will it be 1000 in the end, with the management's "Strategy to Recovery"? Unis as a business vs as a place of research & education - coming to a head in Dundee and across the UK. More ⬇️
Staff at Edinburgh University have been told that they must cover for their boycotting colleagues or go without pay themselves.
Today members of the Dundee UCU branch protested against their voices not being heard.

Like other universities, the University of Dundee benefits from uplifts in the teaching and research grant. Receiving an additional £4m (up 4.7%) next year compared to this.

Currently over 750 staff (net) have left the University of Dundee. These proposed cuts would take the figure of staff losses beyond 1000.
What happens next? How do we as a sector fight against thousands upon thousands of lost jobs?
