The findings suggest that SHAME & GUILT are closely related to FEAR & SADNESS. In Eng we also find references to ANGER & DISGUST. The study also shows that the Jap labels that are often taken to be direct translations of the Eng terms 'shame' and 'guilt' may not be the most empirically valid options
