Last few days to secure early-bird registration at @dev-journal.bsky.social's meeting on Human Development: Stem Cells, Models, Embryos this September. Apply by Friday 8 May.
šŸ“¢ #Preprint alert! šŸ“¢ In our lab's latest work, Afnan explores early patterning in the human forebrain using some really cool techniques. Make sure to check it out!
Happy to have contributed to this work spearheaded by @stochastalive.bsky.social!
A ā€˜tour de force’! First description of human early telencephalon patterning & signalling centre dynamics, coupling transcriptomics & 4D gene expression imaging. āž”ļø Human forebrain is distinct from mouse as soon at anterior neural plate closes. First @crick.ac.uk paper from @houartlab.bsky.social
Excited to share our new #preprint uncovering how early human forebrain is patterned. Compared to mouse, human dorsoventral and anteroposterior telencephalon patterning is strikingly delayed, which is correlated with SHH and FGF signalling differences. Read it here: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
šŸ“¢šŸ“¢ join us for this edition of the ā€œQuantitative biology to molecular mechanismsā€ EMBO workshop Gene regulation, cell dynamics & systems biology 17th - 20th November More info: s.embl.org/omx26-01-bl
At the @bsdb.bsky.social conference, Corinne introduced the Marie Johansson Prize to honour our late, brilliant colleague. The award aims to celebrate outstanding early-career researchers. Huge congrats to @giulia-boezio.bsky.social for the award and a stellar presentation of your postdoc research!
šŸŽ‰ We are thrilled to announce the very first winner of the BSDB Marie Johansson Prize! This year’s award goes to Giulia Boezio @giulia-boezio.bsky.social, recognised for outstanding contributions to developmental biology and for embodying Marie’s scientific originality and rigour.
Honoured and overwhelmed to receive the 2026 Waddington Medal. Science is a team effort, and I've been fortunate to work alongside exceptional people asking hard questions. Thank you to the BSDB and to everyone who has been part of the journey. bsdb.org/2026/03/24/2...
