I'm particularly proud of this section of my Introduction to Oxford World’s Classics edition of *Arden*. Race issues shouldn't be restricted to those plays traditionally put in a box labelled 'the race plays'. *Every* play written and performed at a time of huge colonial expansion is a race play.
