はた目にもやつれてゆくのがわかるほど身を削って子育てしていたエナガの親鳥も、ヒナたちが旅立ってようやく一息つけたよう。
The long-tailed tit parents, visibly haggard from exhausting themselves raising their chicks, finally seem to have caught a breather now that their fledglings have left the nest.🪶

梅雨時期の湿り気を帯びた重たい空気の中によい香りを漂わせるクチナシの花。日本では有名な花、だけどこれも北海道出身者には馴染の無い花。
The gardenia, which fills the heavy, moisture‑laden air of the rainy season with its fragrance, is a well‑known flower in Japan, yet it is unfamiliar to those raised in Hokkaido.🌼

ジンチョウゲ、クチナシ、キンモクセイは日本の三大芳香木。と言われているけど実際どれも北海道ではお見かけしないんですよね…。
Winter Daphne, gardenia, and fragrant olive are known as Japan’s three great fragrant trees, but you actually don’t see any of them in Hokkaido…😅

石燈籠の脇に植えられた常緑樹…でもこれが実は茶の木!(寒さに弱い木なので道産子にはなじみがない)
An ordinary evergreen planted beside a stone lantern — but it turns out this was actually a tea plant. 🍵(It’s a tree that doesn’t tolerate cold well, so it’s unfamiliar to those of us from Hokkaido.)
