Love seeing the archaeal work at EMBL highlighted! 🥰 Feels great to be part of a growing community pushing this fascinating biology forward! #teamArchaea #EMBL 🧫🤓🧪🌏
Excited to share our new preprint! 🧬❄️ by brilliant @mdreimann.bsky.social and great collaborators!
Using cryo-ET&EM, we reveal archaeal chromatin in a near-native state: variable-beads-on-a-string fibers shaped by growth phase and histone composition #ArchaeaSky

EMBL graduated its biggest class ever at the end of April, celebrating with 60 fellows who submitted or defended their theses over the past 12 months.
Representing 22 different countries, EMBL graduates continued to show a diversity in science as well as background. Congratulations graduates!
very sad news. Peer Bork was one of the leaders of our field, a wonderful scientist, and he's much too young to be gone. www.embl.org/news/embl-an...

Archaea may not be well known, nor well studied, but these microorganisms can live in the most extreme environments, but also right on our skin. They’re everywhere.
EMBL researchers are now exploring their unique ecosystem adaptability and link to evolution.
