Sometimes I’ll read something, or hear something, or experience something that draws from me the response, “There is a balm in Gilead.” This article drew that response from me.

Question and observation, a year and a half into Pres Trump’s 2nd term who, other than the obscenely wealthy, can say things are better now?
And it seems, from the small news sampling below, the probability is good that when Pres Trump addresses something, that thing will get worse. Not better.
This is a very worthwhile listen, no kidding.

Just finished reading Kate Bowler’s JOYFUL ANYWAY. A wonderful, blessed read. This is a value added book - it adds value to the reader’s day.

I wish I would be hearing, and hearing of, pastors identifying from the pulpit the evil commonly being done by leaders and powermongers. Regardless of Party or tribe. Pastors, do not miss this opportunity for biblical teaching on how a person of faith can recognize and resist evil.
For many years I’ve heard, and heard of, pastors from the pulpit extolling Republican policies. One learns this has been a decades long practice. It’s been a good guys/bad guys message. It misses the mark, though.
Some good reading here, as usual from @plough.bsky.social.
David Bentley Hart’s article is a worthwhile read, even for non-baseball fans.
This is cool, in the @americanredcross.bsky.social Blood Donor app one can see where one’s blood donation journeys have completed.
