The UK Government cannot pretend it does not see the harm done under its care.
People seeking safety need compassion and trauma-informed healthcare. Not a cell. Detention under the ‘one-in, one-out’ scheme must end.
No tragedy should ever be exploited to justify racist violence. When communities are targeted, fear stops people from accessing essential services, including healthcare. Fear should not be a barrier to getting the care you need.
We condemn the attacks in Belfast. Our thoughts are with the victim and everyone who has since been targeted in its aftermath.
What we are seeing in Belfast is not a series of isolated incidents. It reflects how quickly normalised racist narratives can escalate into harm for entire communities.
The UK Government must recognise the serious health implications this violence, intimidation, and fear has on communities across the UK. Healthcare must be safe, inclusive, and accessible for everyone, because healthcare is a human right.
🚨 High court rules room-sharing for survivors of torture is unlawful.
For years, we've flagged the harm caused by room-sharing in large sites. Our doctors have repeatedly seen patients retraumatised. It's time the UK Government took medical advice seriously.

We have supported children to get a correct age assessment after they were wrongly assessed as adults by the Home Office.
These are not decisions for AI systems. Age assessments must be human and expert-led. No child should be stripped of the protections they need.
No government should undermine human rights ❌
Today’s King’s Speech confirms UK Gov will double the wait for settlement and weaken human rights protections for people seeking safety.
For many families, that means years in limbo - living with uncertainty, poverty & restricted access to healthcare.

Coalition of more than 100 organisations says move could lead to more children ending up in adult detention facilities
Here's what we know: in every single community in the UK, there are people who are kind, hopeful and welcoming.
This week they'll be making that hope and welcome extra visible - but it's there every day.
What give you hope in your community?
The scenes from Belfast last night are horrifying. Our thoughts remain with the victim of the knife attack, and with all those who have since been subjected to violence, intimidation, and fear.
