Building data centers in space could be cost effective by the early 2030s. The moon could crash into the eastern seaboard next Tuesday. Neither of those things will happen, of course, but it's fun to say them out loud.
None of these decisions came down today and the court isn’t scheduled to issue rulings again until June 18
Feels like an apt time to talk about the consequences of ending USAID This reporting from Peter S. Goodman is a must read www.nytimes.com/2026/05/18/b...

Feds lose Supreme Court duel over Twitter-era obstruction probe Justice Kagan drew on ideals the founders cemented in the Declaration of Independence to describe the unfairness of the government's prosecution.
The fact that the originally scheduled 6 p.m. (CT) execution time has come and gone with no action from #SCOTUS leads me to think that at least *someone* is taking seriously the very different posture in which this case has arisen. Whether that'll end up in a dissent or a denial remains to be seen.

Just filed: An amicus brief by Trial Lawyers for Justice and me in *opposition* to Alabama's #SCOTUS application seeking to clear the way to execute Jeffery Lee. TL;DR: Because the district court issued a "permanent" injunction, this case is meaningfully different from other last-minute DP cases:
