Released on this day in 1981, the film I've probably watched the most times, Raiders of the Lost Ark.
And also released the same day but in 1987 we have the original Predator movie, another classic.
PREDATOR was released 39 years ago today. Among the most popular science fiction/action movies of the 1980s, and one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s biggest movies, the behind the scenes tale ain’t got time to bleed… 1/55
Also released on the same day as Raiders was Clash of the Titans, the magnificent Ray Harryhausen film that forever highlights the wonders of stop animation.
When I worked at Salts Mill I was introduced to Hockney back in 2001. He did this mad signature/squiggle in my sketchbook, the director of Salts told me he did it this way so that I didn’t do a drawing with Hocker’s signature attached, I could’ve been a millionaire! (not that I can draw like him) 🤣
David Hockney
'Clash of the Titans' was released on this day 45 years ago! (June 12, 1981) Directed by Desmond Davis. Written by Beverley Cross. Stop-motion animation by Ray Harryhausen. Starring Harry Hamlin, Judi Bowker, Burgess Meredith, Maggie Smith, Laurence Olivier, Ursula Andress, & more. #OnThisDay

I realised I now have quite the collection of pin up portraits so I thought I'd bring them together so you can all look at them too. Welcome to my particular version of the female gaze.

Yorkshire, indeed the world, has lost some of its colour today. Garrowby Hill, a Yorkshire landscape by David Hockney, 1998. So long, David.
