Last week we launched "IfM Skills Workshops", an occasional series focusing on methods and research skills. Sri Sai Priya Avuthu and Louison Thorens got us off to a great start in the inaugural workshop - hopefully the first of many - all about techniques for quantification of fluorescence images!
Yesterday we were treated to a fantastic talk from Prof. Larry Bonassar (Cornell), courtesy of the #Northeastern Bioengineering seminar series. It was very interesting to see how our understanding of the structure and function of articular cartilage has evolved over recent years!
❤️🔬 A great start to the new year for Dai Lab at IfM, where PhD students Catherine Karpova & Stefanie DeFronzo have both been awarded prestigious American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowships to advance models of cardiovascular disease and inherited bleeding disorders. Huge congratulations! 🎉
Congratulations to institute PI Sandra Shefelbine and PhD student Lindsey Young, who have been awarded an NSF grant to study the relative importance of evolution and behavior for bone adaptation in burrowing deer mice.
