Question time with 6 year old history fan: ‘Daddy, where did pirates poop?’
Today the family very graciously joined me on a little Normandy Campaign tour. We didn’t go wild as it’s over 30 degrees again today - too hot to be dragging the kids around in the car.
Not sure I’ve ever put this on social media before but I’ve taken it down as we pack to move house.
My mum commissioned a family friend and local artist to paint this for my 30th birthday.
It is called ‘After the Battle’.
The artist, Jackie Knott, sadly passed away last year.
After a McDonalds stop for some air-con and chicken nuggets, we went to Sword Beach.
As everyone was wilting I didn’t inflict any further touring upon them. But we do still have 2 days to go…
From our camp in Houlgate first we headed for Merville Battery
