one of my favorite recurring subplots in housing discourse is NIMBYs talking about any major dev project like it’s a form of settler colonialism and meanwhile actual indigenous people are like “we are going to build the biggest apartment buildings you have literally ever seen”
So if we average out the length of Trump’s tie and Rogan’s tie we can get a normal, proper length tie.

I have this theory that the Greatest Generation was full of people who were drafted out of small towns in their teens, hardened by war, then moved to the suburbs when they came back. So small town life was the last thing that felt innocent to them. Then they imparted that to the Boomers.
People think of big city governments are corrupt, but they have nothing on small towns where everything works on cliques and the amount of of money you need to throw around to buy someone is laughably small.
This cartoon aged remarkably poorly, remarkably fast.
I don't understand all the cultural love for small towns in general. I can only assume people who romanticize them never lived in one.
