This dumb phones-cause-fertility-decline theory is a kind of economics research I dislike. It's just like Melissa Kearney's old thing about 16 and Pregnant causing a decline in teen births. A reasonable hypothesis would be, "Birth rates are falling because fewer people are dating and marrying," ...
Ugh. Not good reporting about unrefereed preprints. Sabrina Tavernese at NYT says two studies were "published," one of which was "published in the National Bureau of Economic Research" (not a journal) the other is on SSRN (not identified).

I'm prepping four donations and will upload them soon:
1. a one hour Zoom call re craft/career of writing
2. a Kate Elliott sampler of 7 books
3. a rare ARC of "A Fantasy Medley" (Subterranean Press, 2009)
4. 5 copies of the trade paperback of "The Witch Roads" (not auction but to snap up)
Ahhhh I just read and loved @aliettedebodard.com ‘s gorgeous and crunchy novella, “The Tea Master and the Detective” and it made my brain so happy!! 😍
Twilight on in the background and just remembered that Bella Swan might be one of the most manipulative characters in fiction.
I wrote about the series years ago for @unwinnable.com

As my man Alan Rickman would say:
Today's Pride beast is the Rainbow Dragon, with sparkly dark body and a colourful mane and tail plume. It can be tricky to get all the Progress flag colours nicely on one piece, so sometimes I'll pick one of the newer ones as a body colour, or an accent.

As friends in the industry explained to me, the competitive tender is something the bbc is required to do by law--since they no longer produce anything, they have to. (Their production arm is BBC Studios iirc).
So it's mostly a case of changing showrunners, which isn't wholly surprising.
This morning one of my cats woke me up by nibbling on my toes--they'd run out of food you see
(They weren't really trying to bite, more like getting my attention)
