Very proud to share our most recent work, now out in
@cp-cellreports.bsky.social 🎉🎉🎉
We show that brief noradrenergic signals in the orbitofrontal cortex, triggered by surprising rewards, support reversal learning and predict how quickly animals adapt.

It is #MentalAwarenessWeek so time to share some personal things.
I'm Fabien, I'm 40, I'm a lecturer and group leader. From the outside it could look like I am doing fine.
In reality, I am struggling with social anxiety which takes me close to depression for > 20 years.
In my job, it could be a tough thing.
it took me long to acknowledge it was not a temporary thing. It took me even longer to seek for help, start therapy and medication. I am still a bit embarrassed when I have to disclose it or decline a social event because I am not feeling up for it.

I am sharing this because
1) it is important to be open about the reality and not pretend everything's fine
2) to reassure people who could go through tough times themselves that they are not alone
3) that it should not fully define you and block you in your life (but it will not always be easy).
Be kind to yourself and take care of yourself first. Be mindful of others as you may not know what they are dealing with.
You can read the thread I previously wrote on the preprint. I also want to thank the wonderful feedback of @shaunaparkes.bsky.social, @ecoutureau.bsky.social, Guillaume Ferreira and Jaime McCutcheon on first drafts of the manuscript!
