June 8, 1983 - Portland assistant coach Jimmy Lynam has been named the new head coach of the San Diego Clippers.
"I feel terrific. This is a terrific opportunity," said Lynam, who inherits a 27-55 team, but features Bill Walton and Terry Cummings.
