Racist violence on our streets doesn't appear from nowhere.
When our leaders refuse to stand up for sanctuary and migration, when they let social media companies profit from division, they put people in danger.
Our communities must come together in solidarity - and demand better from our leaders.
A profound injustice has taken place in our courts today.
Two men fleeing war-torn countries were imprisoned for 'endangering lives at sea' - while our Government continues to make policies it knows kill people in our channel.

It's been proven again and again that AI tools embed and replicate racial bias. Their deeply flawed, dangerous decision making cannot be treated as accurate.
To give these tools the power to strip vulnerable children of the protection they need is abhorrent.
Our asylum system is broken. And if cruelty and hostility were the solution, then trust us, it wouldn't be broken.
A system that works better for all of us is possible. But only if we stop repeating the same mistakes.
Refugees need protection, not punishment.

People in Belfast have been attacked, traumatised and displaced by appalling, organised racist violence.

The racist attacks in Belfast are a direct outcome of the constant vilification & scapegoating of refugees & migrants in our politics & the media.
After the far-right riots of the last two summers, survivors of torture and trafficking, including those we support, are more terrified than ever.
πWeβre deeply concerned about new Government proposals that could have devastating consequences for people seeking asylum.
We will always stand with displaced queer and trans people π³οΈβπ
In a moment filled with darkness and uncertainty, Pride month celebrates joy as resistance. That's why we continue to work towards a world where ALL people are welcome and free to be exactly who they are.
The Home Office says the tool will make it easier to identify adult migrants "attempting to game the system".
The actions of one person must never be used to stigmatise an entire community. Collective blame only creates further division harm.
We stand with Belfast City of Sanctuary in condemning all violence, racism, hatred and attempts to exploit tragic events to spread fear and division.
Asylum Matters
No tragedy should be exploited to justify racist violence. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home and neighbourhood.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by Monday's horrific stabbing, and with the migrant, refugee and minoritised communities targeted by the subsequent violence in Belfast.
