Oddly enough, upon reflection, I realize I don't mind this as much in MALE characters. I think it's because it's far, far less common. With female characters, it comes off as she's the "ideal wife" that misogynistic men want. With male characters, it feels like a subversion of that trope.
The soft, shy healer wife, especially when it's implied she has a huge crush on the protag. Something about this archtype annoys the hell out of me. Maybe because it's overused, maybe because I like strong women, idk. But I can't stand this type of character at all.
Oh yeah! I forgot. For some reason, I call Ramuh "sexy grandpa." No, I'm not attracted to geriatric men, and yes, I do mean both versions of the fight. I think I said it as a joke once and it stuck. I've gotten many sprouts on board with the nickname, in fact. 😂
