#Türkiye: On 9 June, journalists Esra Solin Dal and Mehmet Aslan were acquitted of charges of belonging to a terrorist organisation, while Erdoğan Alayumat was sentenced to over a year in prison on propaganda charges. We demand his acquittal too!
#Pakistan: Awful news 🔴 Lala Israfeel, a correspondent for Hum News TV, was shot and killed by armed assailants in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on 6 June. We condemn the brutal murder and demand an immediate and transparent investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
#Azerbaijan: The arrest of Afgan Sadygov, deported from Georgia in April despite the @echr.coe.int's barring of his extradition and the risk of persecution for criticising the Aliyev regime, is the result of an unacceptable transnational repression.
#Libya: We demand the immediate release of Alicia Armesto, a journalist and technical secretary at @madridspm.bsky.social. She was arrested on 24 May near Sirte, alongside 9 other activists, while travelling in a humanitarian convoy en route to Gaza. @europeanjournalists.org
#Italy: On 9 June, journalist Gabriele Nunziati, who was sacked by Nova News Agency for asking a question about Israel's responsibility for the reconstruction of Gaza at the
