I can still hear Douglas saying “Fwank” and chuckling when telling the stories about listening to music with his dad over a plate of offal and Thames Estuary samphire. Father & son autodidacts of the sort I fear we don’t find so much any more. Miss the rascal & his shouting & pointing 🖤
