A 1st visit yesterday to the Bibliotheca Capitolare in Verona. Despite WWII bombing (the bookshelves are postwar replacements, simplified for cost reasons), most of its treasures have survived, some predating Petrarch and Dante’s visits. Yet another library joy to add to my long list of favourites.
