Finally had the time to finish Life After Cars. It covered a lot of material I was already very familiar with, but packaged it in the most accessible way I’ve seen yet. And the ending made me cry. I needed that pep talk.

Moved into our new house today and walked a couple blocks to a great restaurant and the owner saw me wearing a t-shirt about biking and started talking to me about cycling and I planted the seed that he should wheel in a tv and serve brunch and show big races
I cooked a boneless leg of lamb in a sous vide for three days and then smoked it with hickory for a half hour or so. It’s like a medium rare soft pate with a pastrami crust. Every bite I’ve taken has made me think to myself, no, don’t even think about starting a food truck, you have a job, stop it
