Apologies - the project is also in collaboration with Jan Theeuwes (VU Amsterdam) @jthee.bsky.social! I curse the lack of an edit button in Bluesky.

Peer Review is broken because a generation of Editors were trained that peer review is sacrosanct. Thus we have Editors who are clerks, sending and re-sending manuscripts to reviewers until they are happy. That's not the job. Be an Editor, not a clerk. Use your skill and judgement. Make decisions.
Habit research has accumulated many tasks that supposedly tap into the same construct, yet their psychometric properties are rarely examined. Here, we assess their construct validity evidence and analyze their reliability to facilitate interpretation of previous studies and guide novel research ⬇️📝
I agree. For me, at first, Academia was very much an identity and a calling. Years later, after some experience of terrible university management, it is "a job". Some other reflections (which turned out to be about workload management, and ways of working)

New preprint! @martinezlopezp.bsky.social in this systematic review takes a look at the validity & reliability of current tools used for studying habits in the human lab. There are a lot of them! But studies about construct validity were sparse, while reliability analyses were almost nonexistent...
New preprint with Chris Nolan and Kelly Garner in which we develop a new metric - transition entropy - that can be used to measure the extent to which behaviour in cognitive tasks is based on a routine. www.biorxiv.org/cgi/content/...
UNSW has one of the world's top psychology departments (#26, QS2026), and (perhaps more importantly) is the closest university to the beach in Sydney.
