Trump says he stands by his choice of Bill Pulte to be acting DNI and tells "Dumocrats" to temporarily extend FISA Section 702: "I am asking Congress to send me a short-term extension of FISA to provide time for the selection and confirmation of a permanent Head of the Agency."
Bernie @sanders.senate.gov wants Democrats to back Platner: "He is the Democratic nominee. Last I heard, Democrats want to gain control of the US Senate. The seat in Maine is going to be pivotal to that effort. I would hope that any Democrat with common sense would be strongly supporting Platner."
Democrats are withholding their votes to extend FISA Section 702 after the president appointed an acting director of national intelligence with no national security background.
