What's so difficult for things like this are that the effects aren't imemdiately visible to anyone outside the field.

I don't remember candidate Mamdani saying anything about Bedford. Sure, he said he'd fix projects that Adams screwed up, but that's pretty general
That said, going into a tough constituency & deliver a significant street safety project is a good political litmus test. Greenpoint & Astoria are not!
