One of my daughter's best pals in school is Ukrainian. She has a card written to her by her friend using Cyrillic letters that she treasures telling us proudly that it's written in "krane". I don't want my daughter to lose her friend and I don't want my daughter's friend to lose her home.

Hundreds of Ukrainians living in the Trabolgan Holiday Centre in Cork have been told that they will need to leave. Local TD Liam Quaide says the community is "well-integrated" and that the way the situation has been handled is "heartless".
