Fantastic news that reflects the top-tier science at Van Andel Institute. This is a special place where everyone is invested in supporting exceptional, impactful research. It feels extra special that this recognition comes as we celebrate VAI's 30th anniversary this year! #NatureIndexResearchLeaders

Recently I was honored to receive the Gold Medal for Outstanding Achievements in Medical Research from my alma mater, Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, at the VP&S Alumni Reunion. It was special to share the moment with my family, classmates and colleagues.
I want to thank @columbiauniversity.bsky.social and the VP&S Alumni Association for this recognition. I’m grateful to the many collaborators, trainees and mentors whose dedication to rigorous science, discovery and compassionate care has shaped my career in biomedical research.

So well deserved a pleasure to sponsor you for this well deserved honor!
My posts will be on this platform going forward as will those from the UF Health Cancer Center. Looking forward to the future.
I want to thank Dr. Jones and Dr. Steve Baylin for building such an incredible team. It’s an honor to be part of this important work.
Looking forward to all that's ahead!
Exciting times at the 2026 #SU2CScientificSummit @su2c.bsky.social! Delighted to share that I’ve joined my friend Dr. Peter Jones as co-leader of the Van Andel Institute–Stand Up To Cancer Epigenetics Dream Team, which moves promising potential combination therapies for cancer into clinical trials.
