& I am *strict* on that criteria to diagnose F84.0 bc it’s my duty & finite resources are allocated that way
But that’s not what we’re doing here.

HOW can we gatekeep the relief of knowing we’re Autistic,
while KNOWING that affirming formal evaluations using up to date methods
are expensive, hard to come by, & have years long waiting lists?
Now that I’m trained to give this scrutiny & conduct formal evals I can see how it CAN be excessive!
You do not need to meet DSM criteria to be Autistic
You do need to meet a formal criteria to qualify for autism spectrum disorder F84.0
& that’s just the way it is right now
I hope if you need the ICD-10 code to meet your needs that you get the eval you deserve
