0697x is a weird beast as it covers three exchange groups, two of which were merged under it from previous codes in the 1990s
- Wigton (previously 0965, became 06973)
- Raughton Head (previously 0699, became 06974)
and the original code Brampton which is 06977 but also returns results on 0697.
(an interesting telephone fact here - Brampton is the last remaining place in the UK to still have 4 digit local numbers, on either 2xxx or 3xxx. A leftover relic of a bygone age indeed...)

How to correctly implement the logic in my telephone exchange database so that a historic search on 0697x brings up the correct exchanges especially given that 0697 should just bring up Brampton even though it then moved to 06977
