Find out what’s coming up this week in the House of Lords: ❓ Lords members press the government on World Ocean Day, the impact of online hate speech, dangerous substances advertised as physique-enhancing, and face-to-face banking services.

🗣️ In debates, members will discuss the recommendations of the Jo Cox Civility Commission, and measures to tackle child poverty.

📃 In bills, the Lords will debate the main purpose and key themes of the Steel Industry (Nationalisation) Bill at second reading, and detailed line-by-line scrutiny of the Social Housing Bill and the Civil Aviation (Consumer Protection and Regulatory Reform) Bill is also scheduled.

🧵[1] On Wednesday 10 June, the House of Lords (HoL) will debate the Autism Act 2009 Committee's report. The Committee recommended that the Government urgently deliver the new autism strategy, so it’s ready to launch when the current one expires in July 2026.
