While I'm on a rant, why is every political message about "securing the future" these days, or am I just baader-meinhofing myself
I cannot state strongly enough that data centre overdevelopment and the shockingly toxic technology of generative AI should be both be intensely opposed, rather than welcomed on the grounds that they're taxed. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
let's be real, they won't say anything til after there's a royal commission into the deaths of participants

You are only a real New Yorker if you grew up in the sewers under the city with your Italian-named brothers and were raised by a mutant Japanese rat and trained in the martial arts.
The Australian govt has attempted to excuse its military exports to a genocidal state by hiding behind the fact that much of it is first exported to the US. s224 makes this flimsy excuse even less credible. What will it take for our government to cut ties with the US and Israel?
According to The Guardian, s224commits the US to "bilateral research and development, co-production of weapons, joint ventures, licensing agreements and an unprecedented integration of the US and Israeli weapons industries". This has implications for Australia and none of them are good.
